THE WEST WAS NOT PREPARED TO GO ANYWHERE BEYOND WHAT IT COULD AFFORD TO HELP IRANIAN WOMEN, LIFE, LIBERTY REVOLUTION

Image
IT IS HER ANNIVERSARY  The anniversary of the tragic death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman whose death in custody at the hands of the Morality Police sparked the Women, Life, Freedom movement last year, is approaching on 16 September 2023.  Last year, the international community, the West in particular led by the United State, was largely remained passive spectators.  Their behavior may be explained by an old Iranian saying that reads: "one does not wrap a head that does not ache". I would like it better to say, one does not warp a head until it aches. That seems to align more closely with the actions of the United States and its European allies in their current approach to dealing with the Islamic Republic of Iran.  T he Islamic Republic has, until now, been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iranians, young and old, whether on streets, in custody, or with bodies discovered in various locations, including Iranian prisons, mountains, plains, dams...

Ayatollahs Gamble in Putin's Casino and 2023 Surprises

Image
2023 is full of surprises for the Ayatollahs and their IRRGC (the Republic Revolutionary Guards Corps) cronies  For the Ayatollahs' regime in Tehran, going into field playing in Putin's team against Ukraine was their last mischief the US and its Western allies could tolerate. But they are not quite there yet. We have a saying in Iran which reads: One does not wrap a head that does not ache, I suppose the US and its western allies do not feel the pain yet. But the question is when? Ayatollahs and their cronies in the IRRGC have been under immense pressure for their uranium enrichment, other suspicious nuclear activities, their JCPOA negotiation with the West and ballistic missiles program as well as their destabilizing role in and around the Middle East and beyond to name a few. Having all these existing challenges plus the daily domestic protests by the people of Iran on streets of Iranian cities for over five months now, possibly forced the Ayatollahs in Tehran to ...

Iran Constitutional Revolution

Image
New generations of Iranians demand their country's constitution changed, that is their sovereign right Iranians protest the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after she was detained by the morality police in Tehran on Oct. 1.  MIDDLE EAST IMAGES/AP These young Iranians, leading by women, have been on streets for more than five months now, demanding a constitutional referendum to be held in their country.  It is important to note that post 1979 Iran's revolution, the country's current constitution was written and presented to the people of Iran for vote. At that time the country has a total population of about  37 million  - over 23 million, or 63%, of which were illiterate.  Of that total population,  17.2 million, or 46.5%,  was said to had been age 18 or more with voting right. Further  16.1 million, or 43.3% , give and take, were under 14 years of age without voting right. The remaining  3.7 million, or 10% , of the population...

Woman, Life and Liberty

Iranian Women Shaking Mullahs' Regime  The people of Iran, leading by the brave Iranian women, have shaken the Ayatollahs' regime to its core like never before.  IT all started with the death in custody of a 22-year-old girl Mahsa Amini in the hand of the Morality Police of the Theocratic regime in Tehran.  Whilst the regime, as its usual practice, denied any wrongdoing during the brutal arrest and taken into custody of Ms Amini; the majority of the Iranians did not believe the version of events the Islamic Republic--not Iranian--there is a gulf of difference as the former is an unelected, undemocratic theocratic regime--authorities provided. This was not a first-time that a young Iranian girl or boy gets killed during the arrest, in custody or after being taken to hospital and declared dead followed by a concocted death certificate presented by a corrupt coroner.  There have been countless occasions where civil, labour and student activities, journalists, human righ...

The Pirates Of The Persian Gulf

Image
Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (the IRGC) has done it again. The designated terrorist organisation has earned itself a new title, the pirates of the Persian Gulf. Within period of one week, it attacked an Israeli oil tanker  in which they killed two crew members. They are also believed to have  hijacked  another commercial ship in international waters close to the coast of Oman.    However, during their hijack attempt, when the IRGC commandos noted a US navy ship and Oman’s coastguard boat were on their way to rescue the hijacked-ship , they backed down and abandoned their catch runaway with their speedboats. The US, UK and  perhaps most  importantly the NATO condemned the attacks in strongest terms.    Whether it is their first drone attack in which they killed two innocent British and Romanian citizens onboard or this new adventure, the issue is not what the IRGC did. Rather the real issue is the nature and i...
